Good, gourmet burgers are part of every-day life in Limassol and Nicosia, but can’t say the same about Protaras and Ayia Napa. Well, until now that is. Surely we had Knights Pub that makes a good burger. But it’s not a burger house. And is certainly not on the 5th floor, by the beach, with a panoramic view of the Mediterranean sea.
The Roof is a brand new opening that will be talked about. Being inside Grecian Sands on the renovated, top floor makes it even better since it’s by the beach, with a view to kill. The tranquil vibe with the dark blue colour being all over the place makes it the go-to place after a long (and hot!) day at the beach. My favourite part (apart from the view and the food) is the blue mosaic marble wall and the relaxed sofas and the airy, open space.IMG_4689The Roof restaurant Ayia Napa
The menu consists burgers, burgers and… a few starters that go with burgers- a proper burger house! The sweet potato skins with melted cheese and bacon were delicious and so much better than what I expected given that I am not a fan of sweet potato. The Roof restaurant Ayia NapaThe quinoa and avocado salad was deliciously refreshing, a good alternative to the standard salad options and a great starter before a burger. The Roof restaurant Ayia Napa The  was yummy, served hot with rocket, mozzarella and prosciutto. Do try the Nachos with cheese if you are hungry! The Roof restaurant Ayia NapaThe highlight are of course, the burgers. I liked the fact that they had a tuna burger with brown bread and a veggie burger to satisfy all preferences and appetites. I had the Smokey burger with smoked scamorza, caramelised onions and truffle mayonnaise. The patty was thick with mildly ground beef making it more meaty (which was a positive thing if you like the flavour of good beef). The melting cheese with the caramelised onions and the lightly truffled mayo was a killer combo. Apparently the highlight was The Roof with mozzarella and oven-baked tomatoes , while the Fully Loaded with cheese, bacon and egg is on my watch-list. The fries were thin and crispy, extra salty-just the way I like them.
There aren’t any tricks or sacms with this one, it’s beautiful, it’s easy and the food is delicious. A good burger never disappointed anyone!
Burgers start from 12.50eur, starters from 6.50eur and salads from 7.50€.
