Probably the most popular “magirio”, in Limassol, situated in the center of the old town. It also has the longest menu, which is important if one wants variety, as the menu is fixed for the day. It includes more than one “ospria” a day, (beans, lentils, black-eyed peas), a couple of fish dishes (usually fried red mullet) and quite a few meat dishes, including slow-roasted lamb, chicken in the oven, mousakka or pasticcio, (pasta with minced meat and béchamel), and fried meatballs. Starting from 7 EUR it offers a much better value/money deal for a quick lunch break.
Despite the casual and simplistic atmosphere it gets packed every lunch time, including Saturday, with a variety of people, like young students, business men or even the mayor.
We like
The food, especially fresh “ospria” (beans, louvi or lentils), the kind staff, the open plan kitchen and the traditional homemade atmosphere.
We don’t like
When it is really packed and we can’t find a table. We only hope its popularity doesn’t affect its food!
