Who ever told you this is the best Chinese in Cyprus, he is absolutely right. Elegant? Yes. Staff? Friendly. Food? Fantastic. Expensive? Very. Totally worth it? Definitely.
The restaurant itself is quite chic and sophisticated, with a very romantic ambiance, while the long menu is extremely inviting including a wide selection of dim sum making it quite difficult to order (and very easy to over-order). To start off, we had the giant prawns, which were delicious with a perfectly crunchy crust (a big MUST) and a lot of dim sum including chicken with truffle, scallops with minced prawn and lobster with crab meat, all fantastic. The last starter we had before the Peking duck was the fried “kolokasi” with sesame seeds, which unfortunately was a bit too sweet with a very strong taste of sesame, making it our least favorite. The duck was cooked to perfection with crunchy skin on the outside but tender and soft duck meat on the inside.
For main courses we shared the spare ribs that came in a generous portion and size. We also shared the sea bass with ginger which was light, fresh and quite tasty with a mild ginger flavor and the shredded beef, which was my least favorite out of the mains as it was a bit “too fried”.
All in all, despite paying around 80€ each with wine, we ate enough and enjoyed it to the last bite. It is probably not an every day dinner place but definitely worth it once in a while, as the food was truly fantastic
, especially for Cyprus standards. My only observation is that we called to book a table for 3 on a Sunday night and we were told it was full, but when we called back using a different name to confirm a fake reservation they got us a table. The worst part of the story is that when we arrived there were at least another 4 empty ones. I understand that there are “no shows” but it does not look good sending away customers when the restaurant is not full. Despite the above the food was great and we will definitely return as soon as possible.
