I find it difficult to understand how a pub that has been there forever has turned from nothing special into having the best local pub food. Not having heard of it before, I thought it was a new place in Protaras, and hence I had to visit it.
It was only when I finally went there a couple of weeks ago that I realised that the it was that corner place pub which would have probably been a very stylish pub 20 years ago! Even though I was very tempted to turn around and leave, I thought that there must be a reason why everyone is talking about it, so I stayed. The pub itself: very old school and quite touristy and very Ayia Napa style, all in all definitely nothing special, more like the opposite. Before they came to talk to us we were a bit disappointed. It was only when the extremely friendly owner came to take us through the dishes of the day that we started changing our mind. The menu includes more or less everything (yes EVERYTHING) i.e. the American selection (burgers, steaks), pasta and pizzas, jacket potatoes, all types of meat cooked in any way you want, Sunday roast and even English and American breakfast. They even have a vegetarian menu (definitely not common in Cyprus).  Admittedly the food is the highlight as everything is very well prepared in-house. The cheeseburger was very good, while everything else that was passing by looked equally inviting. Bottom line: ambiance very average, food good! I see myself returning for English breakfast or Sunday roast very soon.
