I have always wondered how could a place like Protaras or Ayia Napa not have an open-air club on the beach and why do people continue to go to underground clubs in a seaside area. Amante might not be defined as just a club, but it is, at least, somewhere where you can go in the evenings and drink, dance and party until late.
It functions as a lounge bar or a relaxed café during the day, also serving a wide selection of food and then continues on to be a bar/club until late. The truth is that, on a mid August Wednesday during early evening hours when I went to enjoy a pre-dinner drink it was empty so I would assume it attracts more people from dinner time onwards.
As a space it is truly beautiful as it is isolated, on a small cliff in Ayia Napa. Even though you cannot swim there, the view is fantastic as it is right by the sea. The all-white effect suits the whole ambiance, while the fact that it is quite massive, and includes a volleyball court and a chill-out casual area, large sofas, high tables as well as a large bar area make it an all-purpose space.
It would be a lie to say that I have tried the food because I haven’t, but the menu is international and includes anything from platters to share, burgers, salads, pork chop steaks and a small selection of pasta. The prices are average to high as it starts from 9€-14€ for salads and 10€-35€ for main courses.
We never turn our back to sea side spaces and lounge bars as I think there aren’t enough. It might be simple but it fulfils its purpose!
