I simply love the latest brunch trend that has emerged in our little island. Despite the brunch break over the summer, cafes and restaurants are re-launching it, making a nice entrance into the new season. The Sandwich Shop Nicosia
One of the first breakfast and brunch places in Nicosia, and one of the few (if not the only one), that offer it every day, all day, is The Sandwich Shop. Don’t get confused, breakfast food is served in parallel with the regular selection of local or international sandwich combos in “triara” (Cyprus sesame bread), baquette or slice bread. In fact, this makes it quite convenient as this makes the options widen.
Apart from fluffy American pancakes with maple syrup, butter and strawberries (when available) at only 3.95€, a thick and spongy French Toast option with scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage with only a euro more is also available.
For the egg fans there are also fried eggs and scrambled eggs, as well as the full-on TSS ultimate omelette option: a large and flavourful three-egg omelette with sausage, peppers, onions, bacon, The Sandwich Shop Nicosiamushrooms tomatoes and cheese at 6.50€!
Last but not least, for the hungry ones that simply want to try everything on the breakfast menu there is the Lumberjack slam, which is basically an English Breakfast with American pancakes.
The bottom line of The Sandwich Shop is that with 4-7€ you can have any breakfast combo you want, freshly made at any time of the day. My favourite part is that, as with the sandwiches, breakfast meals are also available for delivery around the city of Nicosia…and for the ones with a sweet-tooth: don’t forget to try Mary’s treats baked daily!
