Ayia Fyla (directions below), 99332581, LEMESOS (LIMASSOL)
Sat mornings
Remember a few months ago when I had a post on probably the only proper organic food market in Limassol? We are talking about people selling vegetables out of their house only meters away from where they are planted. With the change of the season the market is now offering autumn and winter veggies.
It’s now time for all kinds of lettuce (lollo and green lettuce), all kinds of peppers including chillies, a lot of beetroot, spring onions, cabbage and of course, broccoli. There are also a couple of good months for organic tomatoes.
Apart from organic vegetables cut on the same day you can find organic feta cheese using goat’s milk for the Hadjipieri’s family goat, organic eggs from their chickens, organic olives and starting from now, a few home-made organic pies made from Mrs Chrystalla Hadjipieri’s hands.
As you probably remember the market is open on Saturdays until lunch time so make sure you plan your schedule!
Directions:
From Ayia Fyla round about take the exit to Ayia Fyla. When you see Panayiotou market (after Vilanos Real Estate) turn right, then take the 1st left and the second turn right. You will see the plantations at the end (it is not a proper street as the owners wanted to keep it quiet.
