Although it may be the shortest ride by car to reach the sea, from Nicosia that is, yet I can’t really find my way to visit Larnaca very often to go for drinks. And so I decided I had to, because it’s been some time now that I had my eye on the Old Market St. I heard some really good comments on the place and the drinks and so what a better way to spice up the weekday schedule, than to visit the place on a beautiful and sunny afternoon for some cocktail treats.
The place is located in the old city of Larnaca in between other bars. The outside space is simple and relaxing and now that the days are longer and so much brighter, we couldn’t but choose the high tables to enjoy our cocktails. Inside the bar is stylish and modern, but very cosy with the wooden tables and chairs. Overall the decor is simple with attention to details, but not too busy as far as the decorations.
The menu is of course mainly about cocktails, featuring a new signature cocktail menu with names like “The Great Wall” and “Hot Jenna”. What I liked about the menu is that apart from the ingredients which are explained for each drink, each cocktail is described by its taste, either sweet or fruity, bittersweet and so on. There is also a good selection of wines and coffees. There is also a tapas menu, so I guess we have to come back to try those as well.
Two cocktails and a small bottle of water added up to 13€ which I found very reasonable.A very pleasant afternoon in Larnaca, drinking tasty cocktails and relaxing.
