Whoever said the month of resolutions is January did not know what they were talking about. September is the month for new beginnings. I don’t know why I said that as I’m always up for healthy eating especially for my kids, and especially when I need to innovate constantly with ways of suggesting nutritious yet delicious meals.
My latest one has been one of the most successful ones I must admit.
Tip #1 Use yummy bread (my latest obsession is Lidl’s pumpkin bread. Try it to believe it)
Tip #2 Have sweet & savoury options available, you never know (refined sugar free as always)
Tip #3 Everything is a game, have fun and introduce everything in a fun way
Ingredients
I used ingredients from Lidl with the highlights being
- The delicious boiled chicken slice with a herb crust
- The creamy cheese spread with herbs
- Fresh and yummy hummus
- Last but not least, the pumpkin bread
- 1 Tomato
- 1 Avocado
- 1 Cucumber
- Peanut butter
- 1 Banana
- A few parmesan shavings
- High quality sliced cheddar cheese
- Turkey slices
Ideas for Sandwich combos
Sandwich 1: Peanut butter and chopped bananas – be generous with both
Sandwich 2: Hummus and cucumber (you’ll be shocked)
Sandwich 3: Avocado spread (use your fork or a blender), cucumber and parmesan shavings
Sandwich 4: Creamy herb cheese spread (I used the one from Lidl and it’s super flavoursome), boiled chicken breast with a herb crust (yummy and light) and a slice of tomato
Sandwich 5: Turkey breast a slice of cheddar cheese and cucumber (go light)
