Ok, first question was of course “why Liopetri”? I’ve seen their work and the designers they include and in all fairness their modern concept did not fit with the location (no offence).
Well, they actually live in Liopetri, so it’s only for that reason why they chose this location, however, there’s something else to it. Aria said they have a loyal customer base around Cyprus, as well as abroad, and since they are digital natives, location is not an issue for them or their customers.
Let’s take things from the beginning. Aria Anastasiou is an architect and designer and George Papettas is a business and talent manager. IDEABAR Studio is their creation, providing Architecture and Spatial Concepts, Environments Creation (Interior, Still Life and Display styling), Visual Concepts Development, Artwork, Design and Brand Development and Communication.
The two have indeed combined their skills very effectively. George, as a lover of team work, establishes and manages creatives and creative teams, whatever this might include, from coaching to organisational planning and support after the team is formed.
Aria on the other hand, comes up with creative and practical solutions to challenges, the creation of visual and spatial narratives and concepts, seeking the aesthetic details of everything.
Apart from their working space, they created a Concept Store at the studio, where I got to enjoy a cup of coffee and check out this very carefully curated lifestyle and concept store hosting products by Cypriot designers.
It was easy to notice that everything was very carefully chosen to complement their philosophy and style. They are always searching for new ideas and new collaborations and they are on the lookout for ideas inspired by their Cypriot roots or are influenced by Scandinavian and minimal design.
The store includes very interesting design items for home and everyday lifestyle.
The designers they host are Irini Klokkari, Kyriaki Tsomallouri, Evdokia Savva, Marios Charalambous, Egg Design Studio, Maria Tombazou, Stauroula Ioannou – IoannouS Design, Andri Samara, Simoni Textile Designs, DiaMi Contemporary Jewellery, LovenLight, This Is Androniki, Hello, I’m in Space, Pierre Noir, Birdhouse Etc, Athina Antoniadou, annakoumoushi, RK Design, Cyprus: Final Tastynation, 90’s Wood Handcraft.
Well, it turns out that creativity is indeed everywhere and it is very encouraging to see young creatives working hard and promoting fine design and attitudes wherever they are located. Do not underestimate the power of creation and new ideas, wherever you may discover it.

Hi! Allow me to disagree and it's definitely not because of quantity!
Your 3.5/5 ratings about the Taverna are unreasonable and do not agree
Nope. Although that would have been ideal :)
