Your “not so average” Xmas guide

I was thinking about a Xmas post and with all this “new age” cooking all around, I thought of the “not so typical” options to choose from for this holiday season. The gluten free “melomakarona”, the “Rudolf Burger” and how about turkey delivery by Santa himself! Well, that’s what Christmas is all about right?

Seed of Happiness

They make the alternative “melomakarona”, gluten free and diabetes friendly with the collaboration of a dietitian actually. 1 kg includes 34 pieces and with syrup they are 180 calories each. If you prefer them without the syrup, they are at 160 calories each. They use organic flour too. Pre-order a few days before.

When he bakes, he bakes them real good stuff. On your right meet the Christmas Vegan Loaf and on the left meet the Traditional Rich Fruit cake. Both soaked with spiced rum, covered with a layer of marzipan, and decorated too perfection. If you want to check out the taste because the appearance is indeed convincing, go ahead and pre-order these for your Xmas festivities.

Burger Stories

Well, well meet “The Rudolf Burger”, by Burger Stories in Paphos. A special edition for the festive season. Red color is expected of course and that comes from beetroot. Chicken burger served with white and red cabbage, caramelised onions and ketchup – mayo sauce.

Barbacoa BBQ

What did you wish this year? If you wanted your turkey ready and delivered to your door by Santa, well you got what you asked for. At Barbacoa BBQ they know how to smoke their meat and for Christmas they are taking care of our turkey. A whole smoked turkey by the experts and make sure you place your order soon.

Platters with quality ingredients and trust me Kantina knows what’s best and what are the ideal pairings. I love my cheese and cold cuts and I find the concept of platters to be the perfect solution for gatherings, especially these days. How about the wines that go with the platters? Hm… Decisions, decisions…:)

Silver Star Bar

This beloved bar (and in my opinion perhaps the best proper bar in the capital), is open for the whole month of December on Saturdays. Thank you for that. Really. A fine option for a good glass of wine and a proper gin cocktail, away from the old city’s fuss.
