Oh my how happy am I to have discovered The Fat Bull. This is for all burger lovers out there, and especially the ones who live in Limassol! Sure there are a few places that have decent burgers but no specialised burger houses offering thoughtfully made gourmet burgers. High quality meat, home-made sauces and toppings together with proper sides…yum! Hurrayy all hail The Fat Bull!
Although it started off as a delivery-only place about a year and a half ago, it is now a proper take-away and delivery place with a few stools there. It’s quite contemporary amd minimalistic with grey cement floors and a pretty bench. The main thing, though, are the burgers. With 100% high quality local beef and 2 patties each, the burger itself is quite complete. With bread using their own recipe, it’s juicy, flavourful and indulgent. I liked how it’s served in a box although I get how it’s not easy to eat through the box without paper.
I was a little more than ecstatic to see that they had chicken wings with blue cheese sauce (my favourite combo) as well as two types of fries, sweet potato and the standard ones. The pulled pork should not be considered second best as it was truly delicious, made exactly how it should be: a delicious fresh coleslaw with lots of tender, melt-in-mouth, slow cooked shredded pork served in their standard bun.You’d be happy to know they offer a kids’ meal which is basically one patty with fries included in one box. It’s the same burger, I know, but for some strange reason my kids were very happy to get a complete meal in their own box. The veggie burger which was in fact a falafel burger served in a bun with tahini was a good option. It was different from the standard God-knows-whats-in-them veggie burgers.
All of the above made sense when Alexandros’s CV includes Funky Gourmet (yes, THE 2 Michelin Star Funky Gourmet), Texture in London and a lot of international burger testing! And to think that he is just 24 years old.
The only negative is that it’s not open for lunch YET. I like my burgers at lunch time (and especially Saturdays), and fortunately I will be able to go back to my old habits in a few weeks.
Don’t think about it too much, the burgers are great, just go!
