You know what they say…you can never have too much pizza. To be honest, I don’t know if the saying is for pizza but it’s valid for me! Gourmet, Italian style, American style, deep dish…you name it! There’s a place in my heart (and stomach), for all types of pizzas. When I heard there’s a new pizza in town needless to say I was the first one there.
Pizza Mine is the latest arrival in the pizza take away/ delivery section and it arrived just in time to fill in the gap between dine-in Italian style pizza and fast food / delivery pizza. I categorise it to be: fast food quality pizza! (Apparently the concept of food, which is prepared quickly but it’s of good quality is now called “fast casual”…and I’m a fan!).
To cut the long story short there are 3 reasons (ok 4), why I thought Pizza Mine stands out:
1) It’s made in a wood fire oven, MUST these days
2) Make-your-own is big here with a choice of sauce and cheese
3) It has one my favourite pizzas: Parmigiana, topped with thin slices of aubergine.
4) It’s prepared quickly and there is a space to stop right next to it. So basically call when you’re on your way, stop for 1 minute and collect! (Dine-in / delivery option also available)
The pizza itself is one size, enough for one person so you can each enjoy your own. The crust is thin just as it should be and the topping selection is quite wide. I appreciated the variety of sauces: tomato, parmesan, pesto and spicy tomato AND mix two of your choice. You can also choose between 3 cheeses: mozzarella, gouda and vegan cheese (extra brownie points for supporting vegans).
My Capricciosa with pepperoni, ham, mushrooms and artichokes was very good, Italian style, mildly spicy, cheesy and rich – just enough to be able to eat it all in one sitting. We also tried the parmigiana with mixed parmesan and tomato sauce which was equally tasty.
An additional thing to note is that they have vegan (or “fasting”) pizza which is actually quite good! There’s one price and unlimited toppings (7.85€) except the Margarita which is at only 4.95€.
All pizzas are ready in 5-8 minutes for eat-in and take-away so basically call them when you’re on your way! Congrats Pizza Mine…mostly for having me as your new best friend.
