The reason why I love Nicosia, my hometown, can be summarised in this brand new little restaurant, Apron. In a small, central side street making homemade, Cypriot food by a foodie who simply loves cooking. Different, specialised and authentic, with merely a 8-10 tables is, it is not a fancy, hip and happening place but somewhere you would go to try consistently good, homemade food in a stylish, relaxed and positive atmosphere. This is Apron.

I was delighted to be welcomed by the owner and chef in a friendly smile and casual approach. I was even more delighted when I started ordering and was very clearly guided through all the dishes according to my preferences, something I find vital in any restaurant.

My Apron Salad was refreshing and quite tasty for a green salad. The owner also added some extra parmesan cheese for a savoury kick.

The Sweet Paprika Chicken with mash potatoes was delicious despite the hot weather. It was tender and aromatic.

The Veggie Orzo Ragù with spinach and tomatoes was a very light yet filling dish, great if you want something nutritious, delicious that’s not a salad.

I was full to try any of the desserts but they looked delicious. Apron is now on my lunch and brunch list for any day, and it should be on yours too.
