One of my biggest issues when I start preparing for a meal with guests is how to make an all-round experience meaning a good combination of: nibbles starters, main courses, sides, desserts and drinks. This is why I hope you find my “steak meal” suggestions useful. I prepared 4 different types of steaks with 5 sides which could be grouped into veggies and potatoes.
I can’t recommend these steaks enough, try them once and I guarantee you will go back every time you want to enjoy a special meal.
Steaks from foodhaus (all chilled, not frozen):
- Vintage Ribeye
- Australian Beef Fillet
- Wagyu Sirloin
- Black Angus Porterhouse
- Other ingredients: Maldon salt and pepper, Epic Spice Steak Seasoning, butter
Sides from foodhaus
- Peas and bacon
- Garlic spinach
- Roasted baby carrots
- Roasted Brussel sprouts
- Baked fries with garlic cloves and rosemary

Method:
For the steaks: simply marinade them in sea salt 30′ before cooking. If you are cooking in a pan, add 1 tbs of olive oil and let it heat up. At the steaks cooking for 3-4 minutes each side. Add a thin slice of butter on each side for extra flavour. If you have a thermometer even better! Add the seasoning at the end so it won’t burn.

For the sides:
Peas and bacon: simply sear the bacon for 10′. Boil the peas for 5-8′ until soft, remove the water and mix with bacon. Add salt and pepper (and butter for extra flavour).
Roasted baby carrots and Brussel sprouts: defrost if frozen. Add 2 tbs of olive oil and mix with the veggies. Add sea salt and pepper and roast in the oven for 20′ or until soft. Do not over cook as they become too soft.
Garlic spinach: Slice 2-3 garlic cloves. Lighly sear the garlic WITHOUT burning it, add the spinach for a few minutes until wilted. Add salt and pepper.
Baked fries: Add 3 tbs of olive oil in a pyrex type pan and place in the oven preheated at 180C. Meanwhile chop the potatoes into fries. Add the potatoes in the oven with salt and pepper. Optional: whole garlic cloves with the skin and fresh rosemary stigs. Mix the potatoes with the oil and cook for 1 hour in the oven.
Serve immediately!
